About the Project

The Mpowered Scale Up Cluster Project, supported by the Trickle Up India Foundation and implemented by Jagruti, Daringbadi, aims to improve the livelihoods of ultra-poor women by promoting sustainable micro-enterprises. The project works with 82 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) comprising 954 women across 37 villages in four Gram Panchayats, with the goal of increasing participants' incomes by 25% through market-oriented enterprises based on local resources. Five key enterprise sectors—Poultry, Goatery, Mushroom, Turmeric, and Millets—were selected after a business ideation process. All participating SHGs received business and technical training, developed business plans, and successfully launched their enterprises. During 2025–26, these businesses generated ₹29.19 lakh in primary sales and an additional ₹9.12 lakh from secondary income sources. The project also facilitated government convergence, mobilizing over ₹1.6 crore through schemes supporting infrastructure, agricultural inputs, machinery, and enterprise development. To strengthen entrepreneurial capacity, the project organized training programs on business management, SHG governance, branding, product development, gender mainstreaming, communication, and technical skills. Market access was enhanced through buyer-seller meets, trade fairs, and state-level exhibitions, enabling SHGs to establish commercial linkages and achieve significant product sales. Exposure visits to successful enterprises further enhanced participants' practical knowledge and confidence. Overall, the project has successfully empowered women by building sustainable livelihoods, strengthening SHGs as effective economic institutions, promoting digital and market linkages, and fostering greater financial independence and social empowerment within their communities.
